Woody Weeds and Wheel Cactus Field Day

By August 25, 2014June 22nd, 2018Field Days

This month we’ll hold a combined Community Field Day with the Sandy Creek and Maldon Urban Landcare groups. These two local Landcare groups have formed a new Action Group to attack both Blackberry and Gorse plants in the Sandy Creek catchment area. They’ve applied for funding for this new project, which is great news for the property owners between Maldon and Welshman’s Reef. So come along and bring your neighbours to the Field Day on Sunday and learn what the Action Group is planning for these other weeds, as well as help us kill a few more Wheel Cactus.

Our combined Wheel Cactus-Landcare Field Day will be on Sunday 31st August at a property in Gough’s Range Road, just a few kms south of Maldon. To get there, drive south along the Newstead-Maldon Road and turn right into Gough’s Range Road. The route will be well signposted along Newstead Road. The morning’s activities will begin at 10:30 am and end at 12:30 pm with an enjoyable BBQ and friendly chat. If you have any queries please contact Ian on 0412 015 807.
