Field Days

filed-day-3The Tarrangower Cactus Control Group holds a regular field day on the last Sunday of each month between April and November. Our aim is to demonstrate the most effective techniques used to kill Wheel Cactus plants to local property owners and interested volunteers plus we provide advice, equipment and help to control the invasion of Wheel Cactus.

We meet at a different location each month where there is a particularly bad infestation and spend a couple of hours killing plants before sharing an enjoyable BBQ lunch, chat, hot cuppa and cake. The field days begin at 10:30 am and usually finish about 1:00 pm.

We welcome all folk needing help to kill Wheel Cactus and anyone interested in sharing a rewarding morning in the outdoors to help eradicate this weed from our beautiful countryside.

Field days and other events are organized by the Tarrangower Cactus Control Committee, which is compromised of members of the Tarrangower Cactus Control Group. The committee is also responsible for the overall coordination and management of the group, including ensuring funding for the continuation of the group’s activities.
